Nerdism Moment: CL'ANNAD

Nerdism Moment~!!!!!
Meaning I feel like talking about anime, games or something..
not always accepted by the "normal" world.
Ahem. Sooooo
I've been watching this anime called Clannad on Netflix.
Unforunately it is dubbed not subbed but I deal
because I am too lazy to always try and get comfortable
watching it on my laptop. I like the sofa OKAY?!?!
I also don't like moving my laptop from the desk
because he is comfortable on his desk
and when I move him I have to
unplug ALLLLLL his USB connections
and then he freaks out and loses internet
connection.
I don't know. He wasn't originally mine so I'm not sure
why he works this way. Must be a power setting =__=

Anyway~!!!!!!!
So I've been watching this anime and it's actually pretty interesting.
Doesn't seem like a "typical anime". It has its moments
but for the most part there's a pretty good story line and the characters
are fun to get to know. It really revolves around this guy who kind of has
nothin really goin' for him at home and his past is a bit hazy but instead
of being some bully at school he actually starts to try and make friends
with some random girls at the school. The thing is, the girls are a bit weird..
Only like two of them appear to have a normal life. The others he ends up kind of helping
with whatever problem they're having at school or with the past... There's like one who is
actually the spirit of a girl who's in a coma, then there's this chick who everyone thinks is like
a robot because of her stregnth and she likes to walk around in a bear suit. Then there's Negisa who seems very weird but ends up being a very sweet girl and joins Tomoya with trying
to get the drama club going. Well, the drama thing starts to get Tomoya (the guy sorry XD) to get more involved in their lives and they become friends.....and like I DONT KNOW. I suck at explaining things because there's all these details in between....bleh. It's interesting though.
I've been told to keep watching it because it gets better. I'm on episode 14 right now. The first story arch is only 24 eps, then there's the "After story" which is 24 eps too.
I don't know..it's weird and it has some fantasy in it, like the story of the girl and the robot in this whole other world going on... (like the photo).

There's not a lot of action in it...except when Tomoyo (the tough girl) beats the crap out of people. Kyou is also a hostile girl...she's hillarious though. XD. Then there's another girl who
is a dang genius but her social skills are hoorrrrible..so they try helping her.

Yeah. I pretty much failed trying to explain this. I suppose I will leave you with the ending song..

There also isn't much romance in this. Not yet anyway. It's mostly about friendship, strong bonds between people, fantasy..some suspense and maybe a little drama, but not much.
Meh. I like it. :]
Oh and I finished this other one called "Chance Pop Session". It's about friendship, sisterhood and music. It was actually cute and short (13 eps)

(Usually you'd see little dangos but it's Pika in this one! XD)

Bleeeeeeeeeeh.

Another day.
Where I did not work on cosplay.
Which really sucks.
Why do I do this?
I do not know.
Blah, blah and more blah.

Today was alright.
This blog isn't though.
It fails.
I'm sorry.
I truly
am.

I hope all is well for you who read
my blog.
Thank you.
I like having an audience.
It's nice to know
that...
I'm somewhat..
interesting?

Okay.
Good night for now.

P.S.
Beet has a youtube. Subscribe NOW. ;O

My sis took these amazing pictures last week in a park in the centre of Bath; little fairies just playing in the trees. How beautiful.

I love all things magical. From fairies at the bottom of the garden to Harry Potter and Father Christmas. There's something so hopeful about believing in a bit of magic; that little bit of something special that takes faith, you know.

And so I'm reminded me of one of my all time favourite quotes from Minnie Aumonier: There is always music amongst the trees in the garden, but our hearts must be very quiet to hear it.
B and I went on a road trip this weekend to see our friend Jonny and make use of his cottage by the sea in Suffolk. It was such a fun weekend and lovely to spend some time on the beach, plus Jonny had put together a rather inspired itinerary to make sure that we didn't miss anything!

Saturday was filled with slices of Victoria Sponge (my favourite!) in old fashioned tea shops, playing arcade games at the end of the pier and some genius charity shop finds, including a crazy looking board game called Dare (B and I are geeky board game players - haven't played one in a while? You should! Hours of stupid fun to be had!) Plus B also found me the loveliest little vintage necklace that cost a whole £1.50p. Good work B!

We finished the day eating some awesome fish and chips as the sun set and stayed up way past our bedtimes.

Sunday we went crabbing, which I haven't done since I was teeny and it was brilliant! We all caught some pretty impressive crabs and had lots of stupid fun naming them as we set them free - although I'm sure the kids sat next to us on the pier didn't get the hilarity of crabs named Paul, Stephanie and Steve (as in McQueen...he kept trying to escape!)

A lovely little adventure indeed.

Parties~!!!

Soooooooo I went to a pool party on Friday. It was very fun!
We even had a fire at night so there were yummy smores involved.
On Saturday we made this funny D.gray-man skit on video and it'll be
up on Youtube sometime this week. I HOPE!
Then today I went to a party at another friends house and
they had LOTS of food. They are portuguese so it's in the blood
to cook, cook and COOK yummy food. My friend's dad made these
DELICIOUS PORTUGUESE DOUGHNUT THINGS.

O____O It was heaven in a few bites.
I had like 4 or 5. I don't remember. I wasn't even hungry. They were too good though.

I had a blast though. We were out on the dock with some friends and family members (all around the same age..early-mid twenties) and we were playing this number game.
It's kind of hard to explain on here but it was like "Big booty". Anyway! We were all cracking
up and having a really good time! I finally got home a little while ago. I feel tired now.

As for any "Bad news"...uhh I'm thinking about Sac Anime and wondering how I'm even going to afford it. =/ I really don't know at this point. I feel like I shouldn't be using what little money
I even have. I still have no job because I am slackin!

I'm rather chuffed with myself today. I have knitted my first actual item (other than a classic scarf!) and it looks pretty good! B is a bit of a hat lover, so this was a practice run for a new bobble hat in time for autumn but turns out it's a bit of a snug fit on him. It fits me perfectly though, so bonus!

A trip to the market with B to find the perfect wool is now in order and i've worked out how many more stitches I need to do to make it fit his big ol' head.

Now that project's done, bring on the jumpers...mmm, maybe a little too ambitious?

My Cosplay list...toned down :[

I think I've been going a bit over board on cosplay too. I've been wanting to make WAAAAY too many costumes. I know I want to, but themoney is unfortunately an issue and I really need to calm down with it all. I have 4 new costumes I want to make for Fanime and I think that is all I will buy anything for. I already have all I need for Fado, I don't exactly have all I need for Luxray but I might just paint my body where the blue shows....I kind of like the idea of that but I don't know. I DON'T KNOW. O___O We shall see about that idea later.

ANYWAY! I'll list character names of all I will work on from now until Fanime. They won't exactly be in the order I'll be making them because I usually work on a few at a time!

(Thanks Ne-chan for the post, helped me kind of calm down with the cosplay thing too.) I love cosplay but...I honestly do need to relax before I'm broke and also too busy to find a job.

July 2010 - May 2011 (Assuming our list won't change...)
Fado - Windwaker (??)
Luxray - Pokemon (??)
Kisa Sohma - Fruits Basket (AOD, Sac Anime)
Squalo superbi - KHR! (AOD - Casual | Uniform - Fanime)
Lavi 3rd Uniform - D.Gray-man (Fanime)
Dizzy - Guilty Gear X (Fanime)
Peppitia Rosetti - Star Ocean 3 (Fanime)

Yeah, that's it. Man, I'm tired...good night.

-Cough- Watch this - cough - So dang cute XD

Looking for a job and finding discouragement.

Is one of the hardest things to do these days...and it sucks. It's hard NOT to be discouraged when you live in a small town, can't afford to buy a car on your own and "Now Hiring" is a rare site to see.

I'm not completely discouraged otherwise I wouldn't be turning in these 4 applications tomorrow, but I do feel a bit down when I look at them. I realise how bad I messed up by not trying to work as soon as I got out of High school. I feel like I have truly failed myself. I wish I could even get a dang cleaning job, it's something I wouldn't have to look that good for but an area I know I could do well in and earn some experience/money through it. :[ Blah. I know, I'm just complaining...and there are worst cases than mine but I just can't help but vent out these feelings!! I know this is suppose to be about a cosplay thing.......but whatever. I'd like to make more costumes and even earn some money in that area since it's what I want to do. I want to be a designer...*~* But that's later...after I get through the "crap jobs" and earn my way up.

Ahhh.....I wonder if there are many like me with no good work experience, trying to find a job. :[
Even with schooling on the papers, most jobs want to see experience...not all that you know. -sigh- and it's hard to get experience when they're wanting one who already has it..especially at my age. Grrrrrrrr. I screwed up in my life already. (.____.); God help me.......

Family is important to me and my guy. Really important. Whether it's our blood family or the amazing little family of friends we have built, these dudes mean a lot to us. And there's nothing more fun than grabbing the "brood" (as my Mum likes to call us!) and heading out for some Tapas.

Me and B, my sis and her boy, my two bro's and my Mum ate until our tummies nearly popped and washed it all down with a few jugs sangria.

So thanks Mommy for treating us all. Good times and awesome company x

Ani-Vent 2010

So I'm back from Ani-Vent. More like I've been back! There isn't TOO much to say. I had a nice time but I really felt I was dying in my outfit. I don't handle heat well at all anymore. I get too hot and start getting grumpy. :[ It sucks. I still had fun being Lavi with my friends as Lenalee, Allen and Kanda (YUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!). A tiny part of me wishes I had gone in one of my other outfits that I worked harder on, because I was doing a cosplay panel and felt kind of bleh up there in something I halfway bought. Another part of me wishes I was in a FREAKIN BIKINI---because it was DAAAAAAAAAANG HOT XD. The panel went well I think! People told us that they enjoyed our panel and a lot of people attended it too! O___O I was kind of nervous at first.....

Ahhh....next time, if it's a hot event I will choose one of the swimmers from Pokemon like my good friend Amber did for her Santa Cruz gathering which I wish I had been able to attend and she looked darn cute in it too. :) But...I am still going to cosplay as Lavi. He's fun to be...

I also really want to cosplay Squalo now.. (Reborn)*~* He's such a loud brat. Not the Kanda kind of brat... He's just a loud, high-tempered Italian mafia guy with gorgeous long white-silver hair *~* I plan on using the wig for more Ayame costumes too! I love crossplay...almost more than cosplay but I will still be girl characters---they have too many ADORABLE OUTFITS!

Man I use the shift key a lot.. I LIKE TO YELL CAN YOU SEE?!?!?!?! It's the enthusiasm in me. ;) Okay well uhhhhhhhhh I'm going to go. Miam's going to bbq up some tri-tip.. ;)

Childhood money boxes that continue to hold those precious pennies

Yesterday was a very special day. It was the day before payday and I still had money in my bank account (ok, so it was only £9, but that’s a lot in our book!) Plus we had money in the joint account. Actual cash. No overdraft. In the black.

This is a bloomin’ good day! Since way back two years ago when B and I were both made redundant within six months of each other and subsequently had no job/temp jobs with little money, we’ve struggled to get back on our feet financially. But today seems like the start of the next, more positive financial chapter. A reward for being good little savers and for changing our spending habits for the better.

So High five to us B! Oh yeah!

ROFL. Narutard Nite.

I
Don't
Know
What
Happened
Tonight.
I must
Have
Been
DRUGGED.

ROFL.
We weren't Narutards tonight.
I don't know what you're talking about.

XD

...You'd think.

People would worry about me considering I'm going to another "boy party" tomorrow. But no. Because they've accepted my conversion to Nerdism. Yes, nerdism is what I MADE UP...at least in my mind I have.

-rubs sleepy eyes- I is tired, very tired. Tomorrow--err today I will be going to another party where my friends and I dress up like boys..and make videos.

Oh yeah! AniVent is this Saturday and I am very excited for it. It seems lots of cosplayers are going...and I can't wait to see old friends again!!!!!!^___________^ WOOHOO~
Bouncing fun as promised....if you haven't been on a bouncy castle for a while get on one soon! It was super fun, although a few mummy's and daddy's looked slightly concerned as a tipsy Fi got ever-closer to their little ones! Don't worry though, no squishing occurred...well, for the teeny boppers at least; Fi totally crushed me!! Completely exhausting and vomit inducing fun - is there a better kind?
We spent yesterday heading to Breacon in Wales for the wedding of one of our favourite people in the world, the beautiful Lynne. The drive was pretty long (especially on the way back, in the middle of the night!) but the scenery was incredible and the day was so much damn fun, it was totally worth it. We have known Lynne and one of her bridesmaid's and best bud Fi (good work on the bridesmaiding FiFi!) for years as they were on the same food degree course with B at uni and he quickly introduced them to me knowing how much I would also love them! These lovely ladies were the only people we knew at this wedding, which was a new experience for B and I, but everyone was lovely and made such an effort to come and chat, which was cool! Plus they had a bouncy castle, which is always good in our books...more bouncing fun to come!

Congratulations to the most glamorous bride we've ever seen and her favourite boy, Gareth. We hope all your dreams come true and you live happily ever after xx

............

Hi guys! Lavi here.

So I wanted to share a bit about how... YUU AND LENALEE SHARED THE TENT ALONE LAST NIGHT. While poor me was sick at home..all innocent. Oh oh oh, Rhode even visited.

-Crosses his arm and pouts- Hmph.......I deserve a tent with Yuu.

~
Lavi

Augh~!!

I can't believe I'm still up at this hour.

Actually I can. -__- It seems I don't like to go to sleep until the break of dawn is obvious through my blinds. Ahh...I really need to change my schedule. This one isn't going to do.

Well, I don't really have much to update you with, and if I do...I'm too lazy to. I changed my blog a little bit. Oh and here's two Lavi pictures I posted, I'm sure some of you already saw them but most of you haven't. They are just crappy webcam ones...but I'm pretty much done with the costume part, I just need to work on the hammer....and I'll be done!

So how are all of you? Any new costumes? ;3

Is there anything better than packing up a little picnic and heading to the quiet corner of a hidden park with your love? Perfect summer activity me thinks.
On balmy summer evenings surely nothing looks chicer than Dear Golden's Lauren, in her sun bleached dresses, vintage blouses and slouchy harems. Few people do the perfect mix of vintage and new like Lauren. Me = jealous.
I've been thinking about the design for the quilt I plan to make to mark mine and B's marriage. I keep seeing beautiful faded fabrics, or quilts with hot pink and turquoise running through them, but I want something that my guy will love as much as me and I'm thinking these are a bit too girly. Then I saw this beautiful quilt, used in an engagement session featured on Ruffled. While I have a slightly different design in mind I love these colours and I know B will too, so I'm now on the hunt for vintage fabrics and prints ...

ps doesn't this look like such a fun picnic to be on right now?
I love the simplicity and bright colours of interiors aimed at children. There's something so much more interesting and quirky about them. And Mimi Lou offers some of the loveliest things. I could happily have this cushion or border transfer in my house. I'm obviously a child at heart, so it's ok right?

Wigs, wigs the magical fruit, the---wait, whaaat?

Hehe. I love wigs. I REALLY do. I believe they chan either make or break a cosplay. Seriously. Investing in wigs is a REALLY good thing. Even though they may cost a lot, there are sites that offer very good prices such assss.......---> http://stores.ebay.com/CosplayDNA-Wigs-for-Cosplay & http://www.epiccosplay.com/ . They have awesome wigs for prices that definitely are cheap considering the QUALITY you are getting. Sooooooo, I definitely recommend them. Anyway. Wigs can make you look so different, thus...making cosplay so much better when you own them. I agree, contacts can really help a costume out but the wigs definitely take the cake. They are what people might see first. Now I'm not saying you suck if you don't have one, I'm just merely sharing some cosplay advice for all you cosplayers who read this or just happen to read this. ^___^; If you have any questions on wigs, please ask me. I will be happy to answer your questions.

I'd really like to get more into styling wigs but it can be quite frustrating. Ahhh....anyway. That's it for my random tip-blog thing. :3 I don't normally do this but I find it fun!!

Not at Anime Expo...

It actually kills me that I'm not at Anime Expo this year.
It's depressing!
What's funny though is that my monthly thing is late again (I'm just not regular anymore it seems!)
and it'll probably hit on the 4th of July..Last year it hit the day of AX. XD
Sooooo yeaaaaaah.

I just wish I could have gone this year. I loved Fanime and all, but one big con a year is not enough for me. I love it too much to just be happy with that.
Luckily, Sac Anime looks like it will be a definite thing so I'm looking forward to that! I'm also looking forward to our D.gray-man night this Friday and Ani-Vent next month.
It looks like quite a few friends from everywhere, even the bay area are going to it!
If we get enough people to go we can earn more money..and then it will encourage more people to go next year. This year could be the last year it is held because the host is moving away. :[ I don't even know if I Should tell anyone but yeah... Unless people take his place, this won't happen again so I REALLY hope we can get enough people to go to the con. SO PLEASE GO!

n________________n

Alright, I need to get ready. I'm going to Wal-Mart today with my Miam.
